Uneven Floors Underpinning
  Subsidence
Uneven, cracked or undulating ground bearing slabs are usually due to subsidence or heave of the ground beneath the slab.

Uneven suspended floor slabs are normally as a result of movement of the supporting walls or beams.

If the damage is severe and the movement is continuing the floor will normally need to be replaced or the property underpinned.

Sometimes, where damage has occurred to a ground bearing slab but where the movement is not continuing, the floor can be stabilised with grout.

A structural engineer’s report will be able to provide you with the information on the cause of this movement and the recommended remedial work.
